Okay, je ne serai pas allé jusqu’en haut, je n’aurai pas passé les 6000m, je n’aurai pas vu le lever de soleil… Mais j’ai essayé, je connais mes limites, je me suis amisé (premiere experience de crampons), et c’est le plus haut que je n’ai jamais grimpé… Peut-etre a retenter un jour…
OK, I didn’t make it to the top, I didn’t passed the 6000m, I didn’t see the sunrise… But I tried, I know my limits (now), I had fun (first experience of snow trekking), and this is the highest I’ve ever been… Maybe i’ll try it again one day…

France is known everywhere for its famous French Cuisine… But when the Frenchy is sick, the menu is not one of a four stars restaurant…

Usualy I wait to have more days in the same place before to post about it, but yesterday was such a busy strange day that it merits its own thread…

Bon, j’avais pas mal de trucs a faire (mise a jour du blog, lessive, trouver un moyen de trekker a 6000, aller a la pharmacie, faire quelques courses…), mais fut surpris (et reveillé) par une manifestation juste en bas de mon hotel…

Okay, that was supposed to be a busy day (blog update, laundry, book a 6000m high trek, find a chemistry, bought few things…), but I was surprised (and waken up) to have a march just down my street…

Une ville qui bouge…
En allant deposer mon linge je me fais stopper par un « policia touristica » qui demande a controler mon passeport, ma Visa, mes sous,
« Vous comprenez, il y a beaucoups de contrebande d’argent et de drogue a La Paz »
(j’ai gardé le « et de police? » dans ma tete.)
« - Monsieur je vais juste a la laverie, mon passeport est a l’hotel.
- Allons-y.
- Okay c’est par là…
- Non en taxi. »
Et nous voici dans un taxi, avec une Nicaraguayenne qui me demandait son chemin… Pendant que le « policier » renifle tout le contenu du sac de la dame, nous faisons detours et detours pour finalement arriver a 200m du point de depart, au bas de mon hotel.
 » Faites vite, et ne parlez de ceci a personne dans l’hotel. »
Direct, j’en parle a la proprio qui me dis de ne pas obeir et d’attendre tranquillement que l’homme perde patience et s’en aille…
Retournant deposer mon linge, je recroise ce « policier » et lui retorque :
« - Si vous voulez voir mon passeport, on fait ca dans l’hotel, et je n’ai pas de carte de credit…
- Alors comment faites-vous pour retirer de l’argent ?
- Je vais dans une banque partenaire de la mienne (mensonge). »
Le plante là et continue mon chemin…

This city moves…
On my way to the laundry, a « touristica policia » asked me to control my passport, Visa card, and cash.
« You know there is a lot of smuggling in La Paz, passports, credit cards, money. »
(I kept « and police? » in my head)
« - Sir, I’m just going to the laundry, my passport is in my hotel room.
- Let’s go there
- Okay, this way…
- No, by cab. »
And here we jump in a cab with a Nicaraguayan women who was asking me her way… And during a long but not straight ride in the car, the « policeman » sniffed everything from the woman bag, and finally we reached my hostel.
« Come back quickly, and talk to noone about this. »
So the first thing I did was to tell the whole story to the owner and she told me to wait in my room and never give my passport or any information to anyone…
Going back to the laundry I met again this man and told him:
« - If you want to see my passport we can do that in the hostel, and I don’t have a credit card…
- So, where does your money come from?
- I just go in a bank who has a partenship with mine (lie). »
And follow my way…

Puis en rentrant de la pharmacie, plus tard en soirée, je decouvre que ma boite de 10 medicaments n’en contient que 5… J’y retourne tout à l’heure pour fixer ca…

And when later that evening I went back from the chemist, I found out that my tabs box supposed to hold 10 pills was filled with only 5… I will go back there to fix this out…

A full day of fiever… The previouis day with Kate we bought the last 2 ticket to La Paz… Aspirins and ibuprofen helped me to make it…

Quel trajet ! de 20h a 1h du mat’ la route etait pire que pourrie et je sautais literalement sur mon siege… Apres ce fut mieux… Me voici maintenant a La PAz a preparer un 6000M !

What a journey! from 8pm till 1am the road was bouncy and I was really jumping over my seat… Then it went better… By now I’m in La Paz to plan a 600m high trek!

I booked my first touristic tour in 8 months, I can say it worthes it…
